Auxiliaries are a range of mediums, varnishes, and thinners. They allow you to influence paint properties such as gloss, opacity, or drying time. Glaze medium thins paints and slows down drying time for applying glazes and pigment mixtures. Metallic medium gives paints a pearlescent finish. Airbrush thinner allows you to mix paints at a ratio of 1 part airbrush thinner to 2 parts paint and use them with an airbrush. Polyurethane varnishes are very durable, can be applied with a brush or airbrush, and dry very quickly. They are applied as a final protective layer and can also be mixed with paints to modify their gloss properties. The range is diverse—from glossy to ultra-matte, various surface finishes can be created.
