Mortars played a vital role in World War II, providing essential indirect fire support in a lightweight, portable package. This made them particularly important for airborne troops, who needed their support weapons immediately after landing. With the 81mm mortar, U.S. airborne troops gained a powerful weapon for suppressing and engaging enemy infantry, one that proved popular, reliable, and deadly throughout the war.

Medium mortars are among the most frequently used units in all of Bolt Action, giving your troops the ability to unleash deadly indirect fire on the enemy. They are one of the main units of Heavy Weapons Platoons and, when within sight of a friendly scout, can threaten enemy units across the entire battlefield. This 3-man team, cast in finely detailed Warlord Resin, wears the iconic M42 jump uniform made famous by American paratroopers on D-Day and is the perfect addition to any US airborne force.
