What is True Metallic Metal?
Vallejo True Metallic Metal contains 80 acrylic colors, divided into 20 color families, specially developed for fantasy, historical, and sci-fi miniatures. It's a well-thought-out 4-step system: Base-Light-Shade-Airbrush, with each color available in its respective variant. This allows metallic surfaces to be built up step-by-step: From opaque base color (Base) to targeted highlights (Light) and realistic shadows (Shade) up to the airbrush version for larger areas.
The Aged Metal acrylic paint is water-based and part of the BLS system.

What is the True Metallic Metal Airbrush variant?
The Aged Metal Airbrush variant is specially developed for use with an airbrush. It has a viscosity-optimized formulation and suitable surface tension, so it can be applied directly from the nozzle in the same shade as the Base variant.

Do I need prior knowledge for True Metallic Metal Airbrush paint?
If you're working with an airbrush, you should know the basics of pressure, nozzle diameter, and spraying technique. The True Metallic Metal airbrush variant is optimally adapted for this application, so it can be sprayed efficiently directly from the bottle without needing strong dilution or adjustments. It's perfect for quickly priming large areas or creating subtle smoothing effects, thus ideally complementing the Base variant.

For airbrush application, Vallejo recommends a setting of about 15-20 PSI (0.5-1 kg) and, if necessary, using Airbrush Thinner for thinner layers.

Application tips
Use the airbrush paint for large metallic areas, undercoats, or quick priming.
Gloss transitions or glazes can also be achieved with an airbrush in the same tone.
Remember to choose the appropriate nozzle and air pressure (e.g., lower pressure for control).
If necessary, the airbrush paint can also be slightly diluted to create softer transitions or glazes, as long as the color tone is maintained.
