Bolt Action: Soviet Winter Infantry

When the German army crossed the Russian border in 1941, the army command was convinced they would conquer the Soviet Union in a short and swift campaign. They almost succeeded; only the heroic defense by the massive Soviet forces slowed the German army's advance.

The ordinary Russian soldier, called "Ivan" by the Germans, endured the most terrible winter conditions fighting against the German army. Their equipment was rudimentary but functional, much like the soldiers themselves.
These hardy men could lie in the snow for hours before launching their attacks.
