Soviet forces made extensive use of mortars and machine guns to support their infantry, directly and indirectly, on the frontline, allowing their massive assaults and tenacious defensive actions to succeed.

Heavy Weapons Platoons are a vital part of any Bolt Action army - as the name suggests, it is in them that you will find the weapons to support your infantry, specifically mortars and machine guns! These can play a large part in the game, giving you the firepower you need to support your Rifle Platoons. This box contains everything you need to support your winter British and Canadian troops with a heavy weapons platoon - two medium machine guns provide direct fire, whilst a medium mortar brings destruction from above, plus a Platoon Leader to lead them!

The box contains a Soviet Officer, two metal medium machine guns each with three Warlord Resin Soviet crewmen, and a metal medium mortar with three Warlord Resin Soviet crewmen, with plastic bases.
