From the first recruit enlisted in an inn during the American Revolutionary War, the United States Marine Corps can look back on over 230 years of history. Deployments around the world have made the USMC one of the most well-known armed forces on the planet.
During World War II, the US Marines were the spearhead of the American response to the advance of the Japanese Empire in the Pacific.
The technologically superior US forces, through numerous amphibious assaults, among other things, pushed back Japanese expansion. The USMC bore the brunt of the fighting, which culminated in the American victory.
Even if this comes with great loss of life on both sides.
