Sd.Kfz 222/223 Armoured Car by Warlord Games

The highly effective German Blitzkrieg tactics employed in the early years of the First World War in Europe, Africa, and on the Eastern Front required fast, agile vehicles. The German Blitzkrieg became famous—or rather infamous—at the beginning of the war and proved effective even in the deserts of North Africa. The spearhead of these rapid and highly mobile attacks was the Wehrmacht's reconnaissance detachments. They advanced ahead of the Panzer divisions, scouted for safe routes, and located enemy positions in order to eliminate them.

The Sd.Kfz 222 Leichter Panzerspähwagen (Light Armored Reconnaissance Vehicle) was a four-wheeled armored personnel carrier manufactured by Horch, armed with a light 2 cm autocannon and a coaxial MG34 machine gun. The command variant, the Sd.Kfz 223, had the autocannon removed and was fitted with radio equipment featuring a distinctive antenna frame. It saw service in all theaters of war in which German forces participated and was also used by the Romanian, Bulgarian, and Chinese Nationalist armies.
