Samurai Starter Army

The samurai are the almost mythical warrior class of Japanese history. Their most famous exploits took place during the Sengoku period, between 1467 and 1603. Because the emperor and the shogun were unable to control the numerous daimyo, constant fighting ensued between the various factions. During this time, the samurai code (bushido) was more precisely defined, and combat standards were improved. Even the introduction of the musket in 1543 was seen as an opportunity, not a threat.

The Samurai Starter Set contains:

• 1 Metal Samurai Warlord (three bits, horse, rider and sword)
• Multi-part plastic sprue for 12 samurai riders
• multi-part plastic sprue for 20 samurai
• Multi-part plastic sprues for 40 Ashigaru spearmen
• Multi-part plastic sprue for 40 Ashigaru rocket troops
• 6 sheets of decals (Takeda Clan, 3 white and 3 black)
• several rule and information booklets “Armies of the Daimyos”
