In 1775, the simmering resentment of the American colonists exploded in a bloody rebellion. Beginning in Boston, the conflict stretched across Canada in the north to Florida in the south and lasted eight grueling years.

On one side stood the king's Redcoats and loyal settlers, many of whom later joined the regiments of Hessian mercenaries. Opposing them was a citizen army under the inspiring leadership of George Washington, along with militias and finally French troops, eager to put their old enemy in their place.
