Polish Army Weapons Teams by Warlord Games

Infantry weapon teams are a vital component of any Bolt Action army, offering your troops great tactical flexibility. Sniper teams, light mortar teams, and anti-tank rifle teams are among the most common weapon types, presenting the enemy with numerous challenges that must be overcome.

Like many other nations, Poland learned from the experiences of the First World War and recognized the value of close-combat weapons, including mortars. Many infantry companies were equipped with 46mm light mortars to fulfill this close-range support role.

The Polish army did not have specially equipped snipers, but the best marksmen in a company were appointed as snipers.

The Polish wz.35 anti-tank rifle was unusual in that, unlike most other nations' anti-tank rifles, it did not fire a solid tungsten core projectile. Instead, it used a standard lead core with a steel jacket. Rather than penetrating the hull like conventional anti-tank rounds, the energy transferred caused spalling (tearing off a piece of armor in the crew compartment), resulting in fragments ricocheting inside the vehicle—a very unpleasant experience for the crew!
