Black Powder: Napoleonic French Hussars

Napoleonic warfare saw a bewildering array of exotic uniforms worn by the various armies that emerged at the beginning of the 19th century. None were as exotic and magnificent as those of the French army's hussar regiments. This dashing light cavalry wore outfits originally inspired by Turkish and later Hungarian cavalry. Each of the fourteen regiments formed wore a different uniform, making a hussar brigade a truly impressive sight.
They were mounted on small but sturdy horses and used in scouting and raiding roles throughout the campaign. Their energy and agility compensated for their smaller mounts and lack of armor on the battlefield.
Primarily armed with the curved light cavalry saber, they could also take a carbine, or rather a pistol, into battle.
A regiment was grouped into four squadrons of two companies each, and the first company in a regiment was usually the elite group, distinguished by its bearskin colpacks.

The kit contains:
- 12 easy-to-build French hussars made of plastic.
- 1 additional metal officer and metal horse.
- 1 additional metal trumpet.
- Optional metal arm for the eagle carrier.

The models are delivered unpainted and must be assembled.
