Some cavalry units used their modern tactics, but others stuck to their traditional methods, such as the Duke of Marlborough's cavalry, who were instructed to attack with swords drawn upside down to maximize the shock of the impact.

This cased set contains all the necessary parts to reconstruct many of the cavalry squadrons that fought for Louis XIV. Each box is designed to allow you to form a 12-man squadron consisting of nine cavalry commandos, a standard bearer, a bugler, and an officer.

The variety of heads and bodies allows you to recreate numerous cavalry types, as well as personalize your army and make each unit unique.

Included are standard cavalry bodies that can be combined with tricorn heads to create line cavalry. Bodies with cuirasses are also provided for heavier cavalry, which can also have tricorn heads or the heavy "lobster pot" design. For those of you who wish to use these miniatures to represent dragoons, spare muskets have also been provided to model this often underrated troop type.

Grenadier heads were taken for you as a model of the elite group Horse Grenadier, which some nations used, and of the early French Grenadiers à Cheval.

Swords and pistols are included, allowing you to choose the tactics your cavalry employs. Will it be pistols at a trot or swords with upside-down turrets?

The models are delivered unpainted and must be assembled.
