The effective use of artillery at this time was still in its infancy. Most guns were heavy and cumbersome, and once deployed, they typically remained stationary during combat. Trained artillerymen were also scarce, with soldiers from the ranks often called up to assist in moving or manning the guns.

This set contains all the necessary parts to build three artillery pieces. It includes a selection of barrels, allowing you to choose either eight-pound or twelve-pound options. Each gun comes with four crew members, who have a variety of head and arm options to customize their appearance. Their clothing and appearance make them suitable as generic artillery crews for most European nations during this period. Also included are spare barrels, buckets, and rounds to decorate your artillery bases and make your weapons look like they're in the heat of battle!

You will also find three mounted officers included. These can be used as commanders to lead your artillery, or, if you prefer, they can be detached as colonels or brigade commanders for your infantry or cavalry. Sufficient head and arm options are provided for each choice.

The models are delivered unpainted and must be assembled.
