Bolt Action: M18 Hellcat

The Hellcat's incredible speed was achieved by keeping its armor no more than 1 inch thick. Hellcat crews used the vehicle's speed to minimize the enemy's ability to penetrate its thin armor. Hellcats used their speed to attack the sides and rear of heavily armored German Tiger and Panther tanks.

The M18 Hellcat saw action primarily on the Western Front. However, it was also deployed in the Pacific and in Italy. The US military also supplied the M18 to Chinese nationalist forces fighting against the Japanese in the Pacific.
