Korean War Ace Pilot: John F. Bolt from Warlord Games

Bolt was the only US Naval Airman to be awarded the title of flying ace in both World War II and Korea. He achieved six victories in the Pacific with the famous "Black Sheep Squadron," VMF-214.

During the Korean War, he initially flew F9F Panthers with VMF-115, but in 1953 he participated in an exchange program and flew F-86F Sabres with the USAF's 39th Fighter-Interceptor Squadron. Within three months, Bolt shot down six MiGs in the infamous "MiG Alley." Bolt retired with the rank of lieutenant commander and was awarded the Navy Cross for his actions. He remains the USMC's only jet ace.
