Conflict '47 Mammoth Heavy Walker

Despite the successes of the light walker "Kazak," Soviet forces suffered significant losses in every encounter with the heavy armored walkers of the Axis powers. A swift countermeasure was needed. The OKMO design bureau at the Bolshevik factory in Leningrad was tasked with developing "Object 231," a heavy, multi-legged walker chassis derived from the Axis "Thor." Instead of opting for the complex six-legged designs of the Axis powers or the technically demanding two-legged configurations of the Allies, OKMO produced a simpler and more reliable four-legged chassis. Originally conceived as a mobile bunker, the designers revived a multi-turret concept from OKMO's titanic T-35 tank of the 1930s.
