Following the disastrous air raid on Collegno in 1946, the limitations of the original M2 Mudskipper series became apparent. While the Firefly jump infantry was quite adequate, it required more versatile fire support when engaging in combat. American engineers developed an extensive range of upgrades for the Mudskipper to increase its tactical flexibility. An M21 Tesla cannon and innovative new universal secondary weapon mounts allowed the Mudskipper to be quickly configured for a variety of threats; more flexible legs and feet withstood the impact of hard landings better; and a new steering system enabled the Mudskipper to be piloted by a single crew member without sacrificing its utility. The new variant was designated M2A5 and was officially considered a continuation of the Mudskipper line rather than a separate vehicle, but both the crews and Firefly soldiers quickly nicknamed it the 'Linebacker'. The new model's combat debut came in May 1947, when 200 Linebackers rushed to the front to break through the Axis lines during the Siege of Stuttgart in Operation Valentine.

This highly detailed, multi-part plastic kit allows you to assemble a Linebacker armed with its signature M21 Light Tesla Cannon on one arm and any choice of weapons on the other: twin HMGs, twin automatic cannons, or twin super bazookas. An MMG is also mounted in the nose, which can be swapped for a flamethrower. The model comes with a clear plastic canopy (which can be mounted in the open position) so you can see the pilot inside.

In Konflikt '47 games, a Linebacker is a formidable weapon, capable of dashing across the battlefield thanks to its jump mechanic, or even deploying from reserve to anywhere on the table to unleash its firepower where it's needed most. Combining this mobility with its light Tesla Cannon allows you to consume a Rupture Cube and unleash a deadly Tesla Bow.
