Conflict '47 Cerberus Squad 1

When the Corps of the Dead first appeared on the battlefields of France in 1944, panic and terror gripped the Commonwealth forces. Every advance became a nightmare. The corpses of the undead could be in every village, field, and forest. They might wait patiently for the front line to pass, then rise and attack the vulnerable rear areas, or they might simply tear apart anything that came too close. Commonwealth soldiers discovered that dogs could quickly sniff out danger, but would become so frantic with fear that they could not be relied upon. The controversial scientist Dr. William Sargant advocated for the creation of Cerberus units, in which dogs were surgically and chemically modified to suppress their fear instinct. Cerberus units are seen as a double-edged sword, and some regiments strictly refuse to use them.
