HMS Royal Sovereign was a 1st Rate Ship-of-the-Line of the Royal Navy, armed with 100 guns. Launched in 1786 from Plymouth Dockyard, she developed a poor reputation among her crew due to her lack of maneuverability and speed. She was reportedly nicknamed the "West Country Wagon".
