Bolt Action: Flakpanzer IV Wirbelwind

As one of several anti-aircraft vehicles based on the reliable and ubiquitous Pz IV chassis, the Wirbelwind was equipped with a Flakvierling 38 mounted on an open turret.

Around 100 Wirbelwinde were produced in the second half of 1944 and fulfilled the requirement for a self-propelled, multi-barreled anti-aircraft gun capable of reaching targets at altitudes below 2,000 meters.

They became known by their teams as the "cookie tin" due to the unique shape of the tower.

With a rate of fire of 800 rounds per minute in combat, the 2cm guns were relatively ineffective against aircraft, but devastating against ground targets such as infantry or lightly armored vehicles.
