Paratrooper Platoon (Winter) by Warlord Games

As the world's first paratroopers to be deployed in large numbers, the German paratroopers spearheaded the army at the outbreak of war in 1939. They carried out daring attacks on strategic targets such as the fortress of Eben Emael, paving the way for the subsequent tanks to overrun Europe. The paratroopers' greatest success was the capture of Crete in 1941 against the larger British and Commonwealth forces. This Pyrrhic victory meant that the paratroopers were never again used in airborne operations, but instead fought as highly motivated infantry, whose specialized equipment made them resilient.

This box contains 30 infantry models with a variety of weapons and equipment. They wear quilted winter uniforms, perfectly suited to the unforgiving, snow-covered woodland terrain of the Battle of the Bulge, the bleak steppes of the Eastern Front, or the mountains of Italy. Each sprue contains a selection of heads, including the characteristic helmets, peaked caps, and officer's caps; the Kar 98K rifle and the StG 44 and FG42 assault rifles; a range of German and captured machine guns; the MG34 and MG42 light machine guns with ammunition belts and boxes; and a Panzerfaust.
