The PaK 40 was the most important German anti-tank gun for most of the war, with over 20,000 units produced. It was capable of reliably destroying virtually any Allied tank it faced and was a popular and feared weapon among Allied tanks. Paratrooper units also used the gun, which proved particularly effective during the Ardennes Offensive when fired from concealed ambush positions.

A PaK 40 is a great addition to any artillery platoon in a Bolt Action paratrooper force. As a heavy anti-tank gun, it is capable of taking down any enemy armor, and its powerful HE shell can also blast infantry to bits!

A heavy anti-tank gun needs a tractor - the PaK 40 is best combined with an Sd.Kfz 7 half-track or a good old-fashioned horse-drawn carriage!
