Between July 1st and 3rd, 1863, one of the largest battles of the American Civil War, the Battle of Gettysburg, took place in the state of Pennsylvania. The Confederate army under Robert E. Lee was defeated by the Army of the Potomac, commanded by George G. Meade. Although Lee's troops escaped across the river, they left behind the bodies of their fallen. These bodies were gradually reinterred in what is now Gettysburg National Cemetery, the site where Lincoln delivered his famous Gettysburg Address in 1863.

This scenery pack allows you to add extra authenticity to your recreations of the battle using the Epic Battles system. It includes Schmucker House, originally built as a seminary. This building was used as a hospital by both Union and Confederate troops during the battle.

Meanwhile, the Cemetery Gatehouse was used as headquarters for the XI Corps (Union Army). Major General Howard had recognized the advantage of the elevated cemetery and positioned his artillery on what was known as "Cemetery Hill."
