The Curtiss P-40 Warhawk is an American single-engine, single-seat, all-metal fighter and ground-attack aircraft that first flew in 1938. It was used by most of the Allied powers during World War II and saw service throughout the war. With 13,738 aircraft produced, it was the third most numerous US aircraft of World War II, after the P-51 and P-47.
