The Cromwell was very well balanced in terms of firepower, armor, and speed. Armed with a 75mm gun and two heavy machine guns, it possessed the same firepower as numerous variants of the Sherman.

With sufficient firepower for most tasks, the Cromwell also had to rely on its speed and maneuverability to avoid direct engagements with the larger German tanks. Larger Cromwell formations were usually supported by a Sherman Firefly to keep the German "big cats" at bay!
