This kit allows you to build 5 different versions of the Italian medium tank Carro Armato M15/42 or the assault gun Semovente.
The Carro Armato was the last Italian medium tank produced during World War II and was mainly used in Italy and Yugoslavia by the German army.

The M13/40, produced by Fiat Ansaldo, was the main battle tank of the Italian Army in World War II and served throughout the war after its introduction in 1940. Although designated a medium tank, it was more comparable to the light tanks of other nations at the time. With armor up to 42 mm thick and a 47 mm main gun supported by up to four 8 mm machine guns, it had a crew of four. While its diesel engine was underpowered and achieved a top speed of about 20 mph, it was less vulnerable to fire and had a greater range than gasoline-powered vehicles.

*This excellent plastic model kit can alternatively be assembled as a Semovente tank. The Semovente 75/18 self-propelled gun provides the Italian armed forces with some much-needed armored reinforcements.
The Semovente was an Italian self-propelled gun built by mounting the 75 mm Obice da 75/18 modello 34 mountain gun onto the chassis of an M13/40 or M14/41 tank. It had riveted steel plates that were thicker but also less sloped than those of the original tank. The frontal armor was almost vertical but consisted of two plates rather than a single layer, which improved its stopping power.

*You might think that these tanks were perhaps only intended for Italian bolt-action armies, but you would be completely wrong. Captured M13s were used by the Australians at Tobruk, and the Germans were known to use Semoventes. The kit includes a decal sheet with markings for the Italian, German, and Australian armies.*
