Brown Engine Soot by Vallejo

The innovative Weathering Effects range offers modelers a new medium for depicting the effects of weathering and extreme climates on vehicles and armor. Formulated with permanent pigments and water-based acrylic resins, the products in the series offer a variety of scenic possibilities, such as the creation of spilled fuel, engine grime, lichen and moisture, as well as shredded grass, mud splashes, and fuel stains. Each is designed to represent a specific effect on vehicles and armor and to illustrate their history of use under harsh conditions.

The products can be applied directly to the base, dry quickly, and most allow immediate further processing, with the exception of Thick Mud, which requires a longer drying time. Tools can be cleaned with soap and water.
