The 25-pounder formed the backbone of British light artillery throughout the Second World War, providing excellent indirect fire support on all fronts. Robust, reliable, and popular with their crews, the 25-pounders could be found wherever British troops were stationed, and their explosive contribution was highly valued. In extreme cases, the 25-pounder could even fire an anti-tank shell through its open sights, making it a makeshift countermeasure against enemy tanks. With its crew clad in thick winter clothing, this gun was ready for action even in the coldest climates.

Light howitzers like the 25-pounder are the backbone of many artillery platoons in Bolt Action. They can fire shells over the heads of friendly troops or engage the enemy directly. The 25-pounder also offers an additional capability—it can be upgraded to a light anti-tank gun, granting it tremendous tactical flexibility. No British collection is complete without at least one 25-pounder!
