British Airborne Weapons Team

Infantry weapon teams are a vital component of any Bolt Action army, offering your troops great tactical flexibility. Sniper teams, anti-tank teams, and flamethrower teams are among the most common weapon types, presenting the enemy with numerous challenges that must be overcome.

The British armed forces were equipped with 2-inch mortars for close-range support. These required two men to operate: one non-commissioned officer was responsible for carrying and firing the weapon, while the other carried the ammunition. Weighing less than 11 pounds and with an effective range of 500 meters, these mortars could be quickly maneuvered and deployed when needed.

The snipers were armed with a No. 4 SMLE rifle fitted with a No. 32 Mk. 1 telescopic sight. The team carried fifty rounds of ammunition: five tracer rounds and five armor-piercing rounds. They also carried two No. 36 Mills bombs or two No. 77 smoke grenades, as well as binoculars and camouflage netting.

The portable flamethrower available to the British armed forces was the Ack Pack. Weighing 64 pounds, the Ack Packs could be carried and operated by one man. Fully loaded, the Ack Pack could fire ten bursts of flame, each lasting two seconds. With a range of fifty meters, it was a truly fearsome weapon, ideally suited for clearing bunkers and buildings.
