Alien Fern

The alien fern (named after the terrestrial Blechnum) has long, pinnate leaves like its terrestrial relatives. Its brown to orange leaves, which do not produce flowers, form a symbiotic relationship with highly toxic blue-green algae in damp habitats, turning bluish and becoming very poisonous.
