Motorcycles belonging to mobile motorcycle infantry units were often equipped with sidecars to enhance their mobility and add a bit more firepower. These vehicles accompanied the units and often flanked tanks and transports. The driver and passenger were separate from the motorcycle or sidecar and could be exchanged, for example, with the driver or passenger of a regular motorcycle.
