The force was an enormous asset to the Prussian war machine, as it comprised over thirty regiments by the time of the Hundred Days Campaign.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n \u003cp\u003eThe Landwehr cavalry wore a dark blue Litewka long coat with a collar and cuffs in provincial colors. Headgear consisted of a combination of a traditional field cap and a shako—often made of oilskin and bearing a painted white cross.
