None were as exotic and magnificent as those of the French army's hussar regiments. This dashing light cavalry wore outfits originally inspired by Turkish and later Hungarian cavalry. Each of the fourteen regiments formed wore a different uniform, making a hussar brigade a truly impressive sight.\u003cbr\u003e They were mounted on small but sturdy horses and used in scouting and raiding roles throughout the campaign.
