Their small size and very low profile gave them significant advantages in the tank hunter role. \u003cbr\u003eFurthermore, the Hetzer was neither hampered by the mechanical problems of the larger tank destroyers such as the Jagdpanther and Jagdtiger, nor did it have the unprotected fighting compartment of the Nashorn or Marder tank destroyers.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e Hetzer tank destroyers equipped many Waffen-SS and Wehrmacht units (including the Luftwaffe and the Kriegsmarine) that were active on all fronts where Germany fought, as well as with the Hungarian army.
